1. iRobot Roomba j7+
The iRobot Roomba j7+ is one of the smartest robot vacuums we've tested and it's incredibly easy to install and use. It can be programmed to begin cleaning by your voice using Alexa or Google Assistant and it's compatible with home automation systems such as the Nest Learning Thermostat. The iRobot app makes it easy to control the model, schedule it and other settings.
Contrary to other robots which take hours to map out a home, the iRobot+ utilizes iRobot OS technology and PrecisionVision Navigation to automatically identify obstacles such as charging cords pet waste, electrical cords and even stray socks, so they don't get in its way and interrupt the cleaning process. It also has an incline sensor to help it navigate the staircase and prevent falling.
It can detect the difference between different flooring types and adjust its brush height to suit the flooring type. The iRobot J7+ can also collect debris and take it to its Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, where it will empty the contents into a dust bin that can hold up to two full bags. You can empty the bin yourself or hire iRobot Home Service to do it for you for an additional cost.
The iRobot j7+ has the 57oz / 1.7-liter dust bin as well as a 14oz / 0.4-liter battery that you can replace easily. It features a sleek, channeled design that's smaller than other models, and it looks fantastic in a tidy living room. It's recommended to replace the HEPA filter and rubber brushrolls at a minimum every two months, though. This is the only model to require you to pay recurring costs.
2. Shark IQ XL
Shark's IQ robot is one of only a handful of vacuums which can be used with no need to empty the dustbin manually. When it's finished cleaning cycle, the robot navigates back to its base station and will automatically suck up debris into a large bin built into the dock. The process takes just about a minute and can save you from having to empty the dirt bin up to 30 times a year. The IQ Robot is fast and efficient, and is rarely stuck. However, the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum is a better option for the majority of uses. It is able to maneuver around obstacles and is more efficient on flooring with high piles, and charges quicker.
3. Samsung Jet Bot+
Samsung is an early player in the market for robot vacuums but Jet Bot+ is a appealing product. The primary selling point is the self-emptying base which minimizes dust exposure for allergy sufferers. The 2.5L bin can also be empty via an app, which is great for those who like to plan their cleaning.
The Samsung also has a unique brush with just one edge that sweeps debris into the roller. It also has an integrated power filter that is able to trap and lock away smaller particles. Its LiDAR can detect furniture and corners that are tight that help it to navigate around obstacles.
Another feature that is interesting is object recognition. It is able to detect a new item and guess what it could be. (It often guessed socks/towels/cables however, which was not particularly good). It's quick to return to its dock to recharge, and can be scheduled to return at a set time. The app lets you create maps, label rooms and no-go zones, create an interactive view, and much more.
4. Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum and mopping machine is among the most advanced robots that are available. Its square, sleek design increases its corner cleaning and edge cleaning capabilities. It also comes with a built-in video camera that lets you monitor your home remotely (via an app or smart device).

The G20 includes a variety of features that aren't found in robot vacuums at this price. It comes with a sidebrush that is able to push debris away in the direction of its main brushroll if it comes across it. It has a mopping function that uses a reasonable amount water to dry and clean your floors. But, you cannot control the power of the mopping. The addition of a variety of wiping strengths would have been helpful for this, as you'll need more or less water on tiles than you do on wood.
This robot's cleaning performance is outstanding on floors that are not bare. It was able to pick up small particles such as rice easily and was able to handle heavier debris, such as cereal, on this type of surface, too. When it came to the toughest test, however the test of spillage of flour it struggled. It managed to gather 45g of flour, but there was still visible remnants left on the floor.
Its navigation is a bit iffy. It slammed into furniture all the time, with some furniture pieces getting scratched. It does, at a minimum, have a bumper that absorbs the impact. It can also surpass quite high thresholds which is a huge bonus.
The G20 is a relatively quiet machine. Its decibel level was 65db. This is comparable to the sound that is produced by an air conditioner. If you're in search of a quiet robot vacuum, this is a good option. One thing the G20 does not have that its rivals offer, though it does have a map-creating feature. It's difficult to navigate certain rooms when they're cluttered.
